What’s in SLC’s Budget?
Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall proposed a budget of nearly $499 million for the 2027 fiscal year. It includes a 12.5% property tax increase, which is expected to raise a total of $13.5 million (that’s an extra $9.87 a month for a house valued at $624,000). [Salt Lake City]
Utah’s Fastest-Growing Cities
Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain had the fastest population growth in Utah from mid-2024 to mid-2025, according to a report by the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. Meanwhile, Salt Lake City is still the most populous city. [KSL]
