SLC Mayor Gets Intel From ICE
Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall met with Immigration and Customs Enforcement leadership regarding the warehouse facility the Department of Homeland Security has purchased on the city's westside.
In a statement, the mayor confirmed ICE plans to convert the space to a “‘mega center,’ with capacity for approx. 7,500 to 10,000 individuals.” ICE refused any city review of the building, aside from the fire marshal, and DHS intend to begin site work in the coming weeks or months. [Salt Lake City]
