A man shot by police during a traffic stop on I-15 in Draper Tuesday afternoon has died from his injuries. Salt Lake Chatter

Your favorite movies filmed in Utah. (Terina Ria/City Cast Salt Lake)

Thanks to everyone who shared their favorite movies filmed (even partly) in Utah. It looks like we have a winner with “High School Musical.” But some of your other picks were new to me. Here are a few of them, along with the Utah locations where they were filmed.

'Galaxy Quest'

A sci-fi comedy starring Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and Tim Allen follows the cast of an old “Star Trek”-style television show who are recruited by real aliens. Several scenes were filmed in the very alien-planet looking Goblin Valley State Park in central Utah.

'Brigsby Bear'

A dramedy about a man who grows up in an underground bunker where his captors make a children’s sci-fi show called “Brigsby Bear” just for him. It stars SNL alum Kyle Mooney and was primarily filmed in Utah, which isn’t too surprising considering our prepper ways.

'Back to the Future Part III'

The final movie in the “Back to the Future” trilogy continues when Marty McFly time travels to 1855 to rescue Doc Brown from being killed by Biff’s great grandfather. Key scenes were filmed in Monument Valley on the Utah/Arizona border.
