A New Mural for The Whale
Salt Lake City is looking for a Salt Lake County-based artist or team to create a new rotating mural for our beloved “Out of the Blue” whale sculpture at 9th & 9th. Applications are open through Jan. 2. [Salt Lake City Arts Council]
Ballpark’s Next Chapter
Salt Lake City has approved a redevelopment plan for the former Smith’s Ballpark that includes partially demolishing the stadium to make way for new housing, businesses, green space, and a 3,700-seat event venue. [KSL]
Relocating Utah Beavers
As wildfires worsen and water becomes scarcer, Utah conservation groups are relocating beavers deemed “nuisances” to healthier habitats where their dam-building skills can support ecosystems and reduce runoff. [New York Times 🔒]
