ICE Detainment at SLC Airport
On Wednesday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in plainclothes forcibly detained a woman in the baggage claim area of SLC International Airport. A Salt Lake City police officer was present at the time, though Mayor Erin Mendenhall said the operation was not in coordination with SLCPD and the city has requested more information from federal officials. Utah Rep to Lead Homeless Efforts
Gov. Spencer Cox has appointed Rep. Tyler Clancy, R-Provo, as Utah’s next state homelessness coordinator, succeeding Wayne Niederhauser. Clancy won’t start until after the 2026 legislative session. [Utah News Dispatch]

Salt Lake County Defunds Child Care
The Salt Lake County Council just voted 5-4 to defund parks and recreation child care programs, which served around 300 families in Magna, Millcreek, Fairpark, and Kearns. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
