🪦 SLC oddities to visit
October 24, 2025 · Thank you to City Cast Salt Lake podcast host Ali Vallarta and executive producer Emily Means for editing this week.
Hey, Salt Lake! Fall is peak reality television season in my book and the new trailer for “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” just dropped. Season three premieres Nov. 13. But will MomTok survive this?
What's CITY Talking About
Planning Commission Endorses Sugar House Park Hotel
A proposed seven-story hotel next to Sugar House Park received a key endorsement from the Salt Lake City Planning Commission in a 7-1 vote, despite strong community opposition. The rezoning request, which would allow the project to move forward, now heads to City Council. [KSL]
Rose Park Bar Expansion
Paris Social Bar, Rose Park’s only bar, is seeking to triple its size from 2,200 to about 6,600 square feet. The Salt Lake City Planning Commission originally approved the bar with strict space limits, but new zoning changes removed size caps for bars in the area. [Building Salt Lake 🔒]
Utah SNAP Benefits Halted
Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, Utah SNAP recipients will not receive their November benefits, affecting roughly 86,000 households who rely on food assistance. [FOX 13]
Fact Checking the Real Housewives
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City argued about zip codes. So, we fact checked them. What are Utah’s richest neighborhoods and what does that mean for the show itself? [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
