The Mammoth Have a Mascot
Utah’s NHL franchise unveiled Tusky before its opening game against the Calgary Flames this week, a 6-foot-5 Blue Mountain furry mammoth with a mohawk. Along with home games, Tusky will make appearances at team and community events. [Utah Mammoth]
‘No Kings’ Protest Scaled Back
Organizers of the planned “No Kings Day of Action” on Saturday canceled a march to Washington Square Park and will stick with a rally at the Capitol for safety reasons. Unusually Wet October for SLC
Salt Lake City has seen 4.32 inches of rainfall this month, according to the National Weather Service. That’s the most October rain since the NWS started keeping records in 1874, and there’s even more rain forecasted for next week. [Deseret News]
