LDS Church Names New Prophet

Dallin H. Oaks was ordained Tuesday as the 18th president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, appointing Henry B. Eyring and D. Todd Christofferson as councilors to the First President. Oaks previously served in the Utah Supreme Court and was a candidate for the U.S. Supreme Court. [Deseret News]

Utah GOP Flips the Map Conversation

Just two weeks after endorsing the new, Legislature-approved redistricting boundaries known as map C, the Utah Republican Party has filed to repeal it. That would block the map from taking effect and send it to voters in 2026. The state GOP also wants to ask lawmakers to repeal independent redistricting under Proposition 4. [ABC4]
