What's CITY Talking About?

Buc-ee’s Coming to Utah

Buc-ee’s, the popular Texas-based travel stop chain, is planning its first Utah location in Springville. It’ll be a whopping 74,000-square-foot store, with around 120 fuel pumps and EV charging stations. [Deseret News]

Utah Settles With Pornhub

Utah and the Federal Trade Commission reached a $5 million settlement with Aylo, the operator of Pornhub and Redtube, over allegations the sites hosted child sexual abuse and non-consensual material. In protest of the state’s age verification law, both sites still block access to users in Utah. [FOX 13]

Early Fall Foliage

Cooling nights mean the trees could blush earlier this year, but the colors won’t be as vibrant after a dry spring. Expect photo shoots to start populating the Alpine Loop in the next few weeks. [KSL]

This roundup of Salt Lake Chatter is all about treats. Here’s where Hey Salt Lake readers are satisfying their sweet tooth.

🎂 On Best Cakes

“Delice French Bakery and Cafe in South Salt Lake. Delicious cakes, cookies, and pastries!” — Julie J.

“Our go-to cake for birthday parties is the chocolate-raspberry mousse cake from Gourmandise. It’s light, the cake is very moist and it’s not too sweet. I also love their passion fruit mousse cake for its combo of tart and sweet, but the chocoholics in my house always vote that one down.” — Pam S.

🍩 On Best Donuts

“Donut Boy is a very good place to go. They are sold out every morning. I can't tell you where they're located except that they're in a strip mall by Beans & Brews and a fish place where they sell fish for aquariums. I'm sorry I can't give more details but I'm not from Salt Lake City so this is the best description I can give.” — Valerie H.

🍫 On Best Chocolates

“Please add Cummings Studio Chocolates in SLC, across the street from Liberty Park, to your list of excellent handmade candies. They've been at it for decades and their chocolates are delish.” — Alyssa G.
