Plaza Hotel Set To Be Parking Lot
The Salt Lake City Plaza Hotel will close Nov. 1 and be demolished this fall. In its place, a parking lot will be built to serve the 2027 Salt Lake Temple open house, which is expected to bring 22,000 visitors daily. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which purchased the property, says current hotel employees will receive financial and job-search support. [Salt Lake Tribune 🔒]
