City Cast Salt Lake
What do the Walker Center colors mean?
April 21, 2025
Hey, Salt Lake! We’re expanding our membership program and giving it a fresh new name: City Cast Salt Lake members are now City Cast Salt Lake Neighbors.
While each member will continue to have access to ad-free podcast listening and a first look at weekly Salt Lake events before everyone else, we’re also expanding our members-only events. That means more opportunities to connect with other Neighbors and interact with the City Cast Salt Lake team.
Joining the growing community of City Cast Salt Lake Neighbors connects you with all the things that make this city great. And as a welcome gift, we’ll send a custom ceramic mug if you sign up during our spring membership campaign, which kicks off today!
What's CITY Talking About?
School Vouchers Ruled Unconstitutional
A judge has struck down Utah’s $100 million school voucher program for violating the state’s constitution. The Utah Fits All Scholarship offers parents $8,000 in public school funding to send their kids to private school instead. House Speaker Mike Schultz said the state would "vigorously pursue every avenue, including the Utah Supreme Court," to undo the decision. [FOX 13]
Millers Expand Sports Empire
It’s official: The Larry H. Miller Company has acquired Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals from the Smith Entertainment Group, marking the Millers’ return to major sports ownership in Utah. [Deseret News]
How To End Hunger in SLC
Beginning in July, about 40,000 Utah kids will be eligible for free lunch — good news in a state where one in eight of us experience food insecurity. We explore programs that could eradicate hunger completely in Utah. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
Weber State Reigns as Cheer Champions
