Gov. Cox Vetoes Tax Bill

Gov. Spencer Cox vetoed a bill which proposed redirecting local property tax funds for schools into the state’s general fund before redistributing them to the school districts. Cox, and the bill’s opponents, worried this would make it easier for lawmakers to spend the money elsewhere. [FOX13]

  • The governor is staying busy. On Tuesday, he signed 200 bills and vetoed one that would have allowed him to appoint the chief justice of the Utah Supreme Court every four years. [Hey Salt Lake]

Bedlam Coffee

Pete Souvall is known for slinging sweet treats around Salt Lake through Bedlam Baking Company, and he’s now added coffee to the mix. Find Bedlam Coffee in front of The Stockist on Saturdays and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

KaiPo Kava Lounge & Kitchen

A great place to kickback, sing karaoke, and drink Kava. Kava is a traditional beverage from the Pacific Islands, enjoyed in both ceremonial and social settings, known to have a calming effect on the body.
