Midway Ice Castles Temporarily Closed

The Midway Ice Castles are temporarily closed through Monday, Feb. 10 due to record-high temperatures. However, cooler weather is ahead so the popular winter attraction plans to reopen once conditions improve. [ABC 4]

“I am so strongly opposed to staying on standard time. While I don’t love the switching back and forth, I absolutely LOVE daylight saving time. I would really miss the long summer evenings.” — Amy W.

“I'm probably one of the few people who hate the idea of abolishing daylight saving time. I love the extra hour in the summer to spend time with my family and friends in the yard at a party, doing yard work, fishing, camping or doing anything outdoors. Additionally, it's one hour of not turning on the lights at night when it gets dark when we are home. It would be interesting to pull data that would show what the cost would be for turning on the lights one hour earlier during daylight saving time.” — Shari L.
