What's CITY Talking About?
Bill Targets Antiquities Act
Utah Rep. Celeste Maloy and Nevada Rep. Mark Amodei have proposed a bill to amend the Antiquities Act of 1906, shifting the authority to designate national monuments from the president to Congress. Critics of the bill warn that this could undermine protections for public lands, including Utah’s Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante monuments. [KSL]
Utah’s Sex Ed Gaps
Utah’s sex education syllabus was given a D- grade by a national sexual health council. So, what does good sex ed look like? We break down discussing sexual health at home or at school, from porn to pleasure and everything in between. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
Legal Action Against Plumbing Company
The Utah Department of Commerce is pursuing legal action against Action Plumbing, Heating, Air, and Electric, for deceptive business practices. They allege that Action Plumbing has been exploiting vulnerable adults, including seniors, into paying more for unauthorized services. [KUTV]
