Dry Soil, Full Reservoirs
A Utah water conditions update from the Department of Natural Resources shows a mixed outlook, with soil moisture levels 9% below normal. The report does show reservoirs at 74% capacity, well above the 54% average. [Utah DNR]

Cop Radio Silence
Utah is nearing completion on its public safety radio system update that will improve inter-agency communications statewide, but several of those agencies, including the University of Utah Police, are choosing to encrypt their radio feeds. Encryption would limit access for media and the public, but agency officials say it’s in the name of privacy and safety. [KSL]

Club Verse Closes Its Doors
The beloved LGBTQ+ bar announced the closure on Instagram, citing personal and financial issues and sharing a heartfelt message to the community. Co-owners Riley Richter and Michael Repp are relocating to Colorado to seek exceptional treatment for Richter's ongoing health issues. [Salt Lake Tribune]
