State Street Diner Stays Standing

A demolition crew tore down the office plaza next to the closed Coachman’s diner on State Street, but left the iconic restaurant standing. Former owner Mike Nikols, who died in 2022, had planned to demolish Coachman’s for a mixed-use residential project, but no permit was issued — which begs the question: Will the diner be preserved or reopen in the future? Unsheltered Utahns Can Vote

Utah residents experiencing homelessness can register to vote using a non-traditional address, like a park, as their principal place of residence, and vote in person with a valid ID. Though, to receive a mail-in ballot, a mailing address must be provided which could be a shelter or family member’s address. [KUER]
