What's CITY Talking About?
Tech Baddie Gets Schooled
Canyons School District, which stretches from Cottonwood Heights to Draper, just bought eBay’s 36-acre Utah campus for a cool $50 million. Coming soon: A brand-new career and technical education high school. How will the district pay for it? By selling off other properties and maybe raising taxes. [KUER]

Could SLC Host Sundance Film Festival 2.0?
After 40 years in Park City, Utah, the Sundance Institute is accepting proposals from other cities to host its annual film festival. On the shortlist: Atlanta, Georgia; Boulder, Colorado; Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville, Kentucky; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Park City/Salt Lake City as a joint bid. The year of speculation raises the question: Is Sundance OK? [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]

SLC Police on Leave for Alleged Misconduct
The Salt Lake City Police Department has placed multiple officers on administrative leave as they investigate alleged inappropriate conduct with a dead body — in particular, cutting open blisters to “prank” a rookie. The investigating reporter was told the police department does not comment on matters of employment. [FOX 13]

What’s the best save as a parent?
Keep your kids healthy with routine immunizations and well-child checks. Wellness checkups are how you and a healthcare provider you trust can work together to keep your child safe and healthy. Visit Up2Date.Utah.gov to find out which immunizations and health screenings your child needs at each age—or needs to catch up on.

Where Is It?

Only one of you correctly guessed the location of this wooden firefighter. He rules over Fire Station #126 in Midvale.
Heads up, Midvale: In the backyard of this fire station is a secret pocket park with picnic tables and a playground! I know this because I’m visiting every park in Salt Lake County this year.

This one’s easy, but a little morbid. I recently discovered this unnecessarily steep local hill was ascended by the Donner Party and their oxen.
