Local Athletes Compete For Gold
Almost 40 athletes with Utah ties are competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which begin this Friday, July 26. That includes Amandine Henry, Macey Fraser, Ify Onumonu, and Mina Tanaka — all from the Utah Royals. [Salt Lake Tribune]

Antelope Island Fire
Antelope Island was evacuated and closed to visitors after a new wildfire sighting. [FOX 13]
- Meanwhile: The Sandhurst Fire in Salt Lake’s foothills is over 80% contained, after burning around 200 acres. Evacuations have been lifted, but some traffic restrictions and trail closures remain. [ABC 4]
Heat-Related Deaths in Southern Utah
A 56-year-old woman died while hiking near Quail Creek State Park in Hurricane. This marks the fourth heat-related death in southern Utah in the last two weeks. [Salt Lake Tribune]
