Hi there! This is Natalia Aldana, an editor at City Cast, filling in for Terina today.
Fun fact: While most of the country was policing swimwear fashion for not being modest enough at the turn of the 20th century, Utah beachgoers were unabashedly relaxed, and dare I say, trés cool about beach body positivity. Utah was clearly the beachwear OG 😎
Speaking of fashion, City Cast Salt Lake spoke to the most fashionable among us, Tan France of “Queer Eye” fame, on everything he loves about Salt Lake City. Keep reading for the goods 😍

What's CITY Talking About?
Rep. Curtis Leads in Utah Senate Primary
A recent poll shows Congressman John Curtis leading the Republican primary race to fill Sen. Mitt Romney’s seat. At least 34% of registered Republican voters said they support Curtis, while Trump-endorsed Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs came in second with 16% of voters. However, one-third of voters remain undecided. [Deseret News]

Utah Submits 2034 Olympics Budget Proposal
On Monday, the Salt Lake City-Utah Committee for the Games submitted a $3.99 billion budget proposal to the International Olympic Committee to fund the 2034 Winter Olympics. The proposed operating budget is $2.83 billion, which the committee insists won’t come from taxpayers. We’ll find out if Utah is hosting by July 24. [FOX 13]

SLC’s Young Drivers Lean Electric
When you think of an electric vehicle consumer, you might think of a seasoned professional who can easily drop tens of thousands of dollars for their new ride. While that may have been true just a year ago, Salt Lake City dealers now say their clientele tends to veer younger and more blue-collar. What has influenced this change? [Salt Lake Tribune]
Gov. Cox on Homeless Services
In a steaming speech, Gov. Cox told homeless service providers that they need to show results or lose funding. Is that reasonable? Plus, what projects have Salt Lake City council members snuck into the budget? And could one be public bathrooms? [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
