What's CITY Talking About?

Potential Utah NHL Logos
Branding for Utah’s upcoming NHL team is starting to take shape. Eight logos and wordmarks, with the placeholder name “Utah Hockey Club,” were filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office by a company associated with the Smith Entertainment Group. According to Ryan Smith, they’re also down to a pool of four probable team names. What do you think of the designs? [KSL]

Family Housing at Former Police HQ
Salt Lake City’s former police headquarters, which has been empty since 2015, is set to become a major housing project called The Grove. The 66-year-old structure will be renovated and two high rises will be added to create 244 family-friendly units, many of which will be on a rent-to-own basis. It will also feature over 16,000 square feet of ground-floor community services like child care, a medical clinic, local shops, and walkable green spaces. A third of the units will be affordable housing. [Salt Lake Tribune]
