Great Salt Lake Plate

Great news! Supporters of the Great Salt Lake license plate reached their goal of 500 signatures, which means you can switch out your plates for one at your local DMV soon. The $25 annual fee will go to supporting conservation efforts at the Great Salt Lake. [@greatsaltlakenews/Instagram]

doTERRA, the essential oils company based in Pleasant Grove, laid off 7% of their workforce — almost 300 employees. Affected workers were reportedly offered severance packages and extended health care benefits. According to a study by the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute at the University of Utah, 20% of Utahns will be over the age of 65 by 2060. While we’re the youngest state in the U.S., our population is beginning to grow older due to aging adults and declining fertility rates. [University of Utah]
