Concert Week

It’s Live Nation Concert Week, with select concerts and shows $25 through May 14. It’s a while-supplies-last basis, so make sure to lock down your tickets early. The Salt Lake City shows I have my eye on are Janet Jackson and Jacob Collier. And, honestly, I might take my mom to see Donny Osmond in Boise (hi mom, happy Mother’s Day!). [Live Nation]

The Post District

After six years of planning and construction, Salt Lake City’s Post District is now open. The mixed-use development has 580 housing units and space for bars, restaurants, and retail. Traeger Grills has even relocated their headquarters to the former printing press building. [KSL]

Utah Reservoirs at a Peak High

Utah reservoirs are at their highest water levels since 2020. Thank our snowpack and a rainier-than-usual March. Storage capacity is at 87% which is 30% higher than this time last year. [KCPW]

How to Survive a Spring Bear Encounter

Jeff and Wes Larson, hosts of the Tooth and Claw Podcast, are on the City Cast Salt Lake podcast to do some mythbusting around Utah’s black bears. Because, if you didn’t know, we do have bears here. Listen for good intel if you like to camp, hike or walk your dog on trails in the spring. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]

This week, Hey Salt Lake readers are sounding off on changes (or lack thereof) to Salt Lake City’s west side. Plus, smaller bakeries you should know about.

On the New Art Installation on the West Side

“Very cool, we love art! But as a West Sider, I’d prefer we fix the potholes, put lights on our streets, and have the city crew be more present in cleaning the trash at Jordan Park (although the trash left behind by residents is an issue. Maybe more trash cans about?).” — Gossip G.

🥐 On the Best Bakeries

“Carol’s Pastry Shop in Sugar House is a gem. It is hidden behind 2100 S. on a Lincoln Street alley in a garage behind a house. The family has decades of history in the neighborhood and its prices are super affordable.” — Cory W.

“Greenhouse Effect Coffee & Crepes! An amazing place with an amazing dog-friendly patio.” — Sara

“We love ordering sourdough bread and cookies from Blue Lounge Array! A local microbakery that delivers to your door for free on Sundays.” — Sofia J.

One reader asked, “No gluten-free bakeries?”

If you have a favorite gluten-free spot tell us about it.
