Free Summer Recreation for Kids

Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation announced that school-aged children (ages 5-18) can get free summer access to recreation centers through the MY County Rec Pass pilot program. Pre-registration is open now, and the pass can be used starting June 1, 2024. [Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation]

Angel Moroni Returns

After being damaged in the 2020 earthquake, the golden Angel Moroni statue is reinstalled atop the Salt Lake Temple. If you remember, the seismic activity shook the trumpet from the statue’s hand. The temple is undergoing renovations and earthquake proofing and should reopen in 2026. [Salt Lake Tribune]

Peak Cherry Blossom Season

Head to Capitol Hill to peep the cherry blossoms this week. There are 433 cherry trees surrounding Utah’s State Capitol building, and 70% should be in bloom. Be sure to go before a storm heads our way on Friday. [FOX 13]
