Ending Ranked-Choice Voting?

A bill that’s moving forward in the Legislature prohibits Utah cities from using ranked-choice voting in their 2025 municipal elections, effectively ending the RCV pilot program that was set to expire in 2026. Proponents of the bill say ranked-choice voting caused confusion while critics say it gave more local control over election methods. [Salt Lake City Weekly]

The Bad Bunny concert on Wednesday was the highest-grossing concert in Delta Center history, with over 15,000 people in attendance. The performance kicked off the Grammy-award winning singer’s world tour, and included two live horses, a first for the arena. [ABC 4]

Fairpark’s ‘Slap in the Face,’ ’Burbs Bus Service, and a Good Cry

A Salt Lake County lawmaker wants more transit in the south valley –– so do we! — but what’s the tradeoff in her current proposal? Plus, the Larry H. Miller Company and legislators’ plans for an MLB stadium in Fairpark are starting to feel Inland Port-esque. Will Westside electeds regret calling it a home run? Host Ali Vallarta and executive producer Emily Means discuss two very wonky proposals and share picks of the week from two local beacons.

Later, dudes.
