What's CITY Talking About?
Johnson vs. Grants Pass
The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case, Johnson vs. Grants Pass, on the criminalization of homelessness in local government. Salt Lake City already has ordinances that prohibit camping on public lands. Violators can be charged a class D misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of six months in jail. [NPR, Deseret News]

Gwyneth Goes Skiing
The satirical musical “Gwyneth Goes Skiing” will have its U.S. premiere at the Egyptian Theater in Park City, not far from where the skiing accident between actress Gwyneth Paltrow and retired optometrist Terry Sanderson took place. The London musical is a re-enactment of the live-streamed trial that became an iconic pop culture moment. [Park Record]

Indigenous Healing Under Medicaid
A bill in the Utah Legislature aims to include traditional Indigenous healing services under Medicaid. If passed, tribal governments could designate qualifying healers for coverage. This could combat health disparities and benefit the roughly 15,000 Native Americans enrolled in the program. [KSL]
