Salt Lake's free services you should know about
February 12, 2024
Good morning! In today’s newsletter, we’re sharing a list of free resources in Salt Lake.

What's CITY Talking About?
Road Rage Bill
A bill that would define “road rage” is advancing in the Legislature. If passed, it would criminalize the act of a driver or passenger threatening or intimidating someone in another vehicle. But “flipping someone off” would not be considered road rage (phew). [KUTV]

Friendly Moab
On a list of “Most Welcoming Destinations in 2024” by booking.com, Moab was ranked number six out of 10. The charming, small town is an ideal travel destination for outdoor adventurers, and it’s the only U.S. city to make the list. [FOX 13]

Horse Manure
Salt Lake County residents are opposing proposed rules they fear would restrict their rural lifestyle. County officials are attempting to reduce the high levels of E. coli in Rose Creek (Herriman) that subsequently runs off into the Jordan River. The changes up for consideration would affect zoning, preventing horse ownership on some properties, and would require owners to submit a manure management plan. [Salt Lake Tribune]
The SLC Airport
A record number of passengers traveled through the Salt Lake City airport last year, but what does the future hold? Today, City Cast Salt Lake podcast host Ali Vallarta talked to the airport’s executive director on everything from his salary to the whole Delta thing. Plus, will we get nonstop flights to Korea?
