Your guide to February in Salt Lake
February 5, 2024
Hey, Salt Lake! Today we have a guide for the best things to do in February — for lovers and loathers alike.

What's CITY Talking About?
The Other Place Restaurant to Close
The Other Place Restaurant, a beloved Greek diner on 300 S. and arguably the best pita in Salt Lake City, will soon be replaced by an eight-story apartment building. The Other Place has been a neighborhood staple for 40 years, but reportedly the owner has called it quits. [Building Salt Lake]

Former Utah AG Dies
Jan Graham, the first (and only) woman to hold the office of Utah Attorney General, has died. She served from 1993-2001 and was the most recent Democrat to hold a statewide office. Her legacy includes advocating in the best interest of women and children and landmark litigation with national tobacco companies. [ABC 4]
Food Equity Microgrant Program
Applications for Salt Lake City’s Food Equity Microgrant program are now open through March 3. Great timing, because last week we talked about how to start urban farming. This is an opportunity for residents, community organizations, and local businesses to receive funding to address food inequity. This can include growing food, outreach, and improving food access. February may be the shortest month, but this is a leap year. Which means we get one extra day to realize our greatest dreams or do something ridiculous. From Valentine’s Day to Mardi Gras and unpacking why leap years even exist — this is your guide to February in Salt Lake. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
