School Closures Conflict of Interest?

A Salt Lake City School District decision to close four elementary schools is receiving backlash from parents who say there was a conflict of interest involving a district official. The parents claim that Brian Conley, the chair of the district’s Boundary Options Committee, influenced the process unfairly. Conley’s wife is the principal of a school that had been considered for closure but will stay open. Additionally, his stepchild attends a different school that was removed from the list of closures. Still, the district stands by its decision and has no plans to reconsider. [FOX 13]
