January 18, 2024
Good morning! Do you know of any free exercise/workout classes in Salt Lake? I would love to get a list together.

What's CITY Talking About?
Valentine Boxes
Do you miss the days of elementary school Valentine’s Day, where you made a mailbox and handed out cards to all your friends? Well, City of Industry is hosting a good ol’ fashioned valentines swap. Craft your mailbox at home, and then it’ll be displayed in store for the holiday. Sign up by Jan. 20 if you want to participate. It’ll be on a first-come, first-served basis since space is limited. Ten Commandments in Schools
Rep. Mike Petersen, R-North Logan, has proposed a bill that would require all Utah public schools to display framed copies of the Ten Commandments (at least 16 by 20 inches). Critics of the bill, including Rachel Laser of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, say it violates the U.S. Constitution and creates a divisive environment. [Salt Lake Tribune]
Nature’s Bakery in SLC
Nature’s Bakery, best known for their snack bars, is set to build a $237 million baking facility in Salt Lake City. It’s expected to open by the summer of 2025 and bring along 190 new jobs with it. [FOX 13]
Utah Political Scandals
A legacy of scandal has plagued our local and state electeds, and Attorney General Sean Reyes’ recent controversies are just the tip of the iceberg. Why does it feel like these days, being embroiled in political scandal might make you more likeable? What consequences are there? [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]

Their shops are both local and so beautiful to visit!” — Jen C.
