What's CITY Talking About?

Lovebound Library

A new romance bookstore is coming soon to Salt Lake City. It’s projected to open in the spring at 145 E. 900 S. where Curiosity used to be (RIP). Bring on the smut! [Instagram]

Battery-Powered Train

Stadler Rail and Utah State University’s ASPIRE Center are working on a two-car demonstration train powered by lithium batteries as an alternative to diesel trains. While the Utah Transit Authority’s long-term plan includes the electrification of the FrontRunner line, the project is on the back burner. In the meantime, ASPIRE is studying what it will take to run an emission-free, battery-powered FrontRunner. [Salt Lake Tribune]

High Avalanche Risk

The Utah Avalanche Center is warning people to continue to stay alert. Although the avalanche risk went from extreme over the weekend to high, human-triggered avalanches remain a danger. [KUTV]

Chain, Chain, Chains

City Cast Salt Lake host Ali Vallarta and executive producer Emily Means are breaking down this week’s news including: Sugar House Coffee vs. a proposed high rise, Utah’s drive thru obsession, and an update from the state school board. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
