Your guide to January in Salt Lake
January 5, 2024
Good morning! On City Cast Salt Lake, host Ali Vallarta said that birthday dinners are out, and birthday breakfasts are in. It got me thinking: Where do you go to celebrate a special occasion? Raise your hand if you miss the Utah Fun Dome 🙋🏻♀️

What's CITY Talking About?
Utah Turns 128
This week marks 128 years of Utah’s statehood. Celebrate by blasting “Utah, This is the Place” (our official state song) on repeat. Preferably, while wearing this shirt and eating a bowl of green jello. [ABC4]

No Phone Policy
Centennial Jr. High School in Kaysville has implemented a no-phone policy. While there was initial pushback, overall, students have been welcoming to the change. Some say it’s improved their focus and helped them build more friendships and connections. [Salt Lake Tribune]
Adopt-a-Pet
In January (while supplies last), head to any City Library location to adopt a mini stuffed animal “pet.” This can either be a substitute for an animal or can help prepare your kid for the real thing 🥺 [Instagram]
