Presidential Debate

Salt Lake City is set to host the 2024 presidential debate at the University of Utah on Oct. 9, 2024. In 2020, the campus hosted the vice presidential debate with Kamala Harris and Mike Pence. Here’s hoping for another fly incident. [FOX 13]

Classroom Neutrality

Utah lawmakers are considering a draft proposal, titled, “Classroom Neutrality,” that would prohibit teachers from displaying Pride flags or symbols perceived as endorsing “political” views in schools. This would expand on existing restrictions to include gender identity and sexual orientation in the realm of political viewpoints. Some critics worry the vagueness of the proposal would result in “selective enforcement.” [Salt Lake Tribune]
