October 27, 2023
Hey, Salt Lake! Need a last-minute Halloween costume for weekend festivities? I’ve got a roundup of some Utah-themed getups that will sure win you best dressed.

What's CITY Talking About?
How Will the Legislature Address Homelessness?
As federal pandemic aid dwindles and homelessness rates in Utah increase, organizations that provide services to our unsheltered population are facing a shortage of funds. These organizations will be looking to the Utah Legislature to provide that extra funding. State Homeless Coordinator Wayne Niederhauser said emergency shelters need about $5 million this year, in addition to Salt Lake’s winter homelessness plan. [Salt Lake Tribune]
The 4,200 Project
The Utah Rivers Council has launched the 4,200 Project, an initiative that aims to raise the water levels of the Great Salt Lake. The Rivers Council is part of the coalition lawsuit against the state of Utah for failing to protect the lake. The project includes a number of ambitious policy solutions that the nonprofit plans to lobby to legislators. [Utah Rivers Council, YouTube]
