Express Library

An express branch of the library will be opening in the Ballpark neighborhood next summer. It will be only 600 square feet (Why is everything smaller so 🥺?). Residents will be able to borrow books from a downsized collection, pick up holds, and use the public computers and WiFi. It will stay open until a permanent location arrives within the next five years. [FOX 13]

Utah’s Halloween Baby Boom

A study by Betway suggests that Utahns are making babies around Halloween. We ranked number one in the nation for highest birth rate in July with 1.262 births per thousand in comparison to our population. [Betway]

Affordable Housing

How New Incentives Could Help SLC’s Housing Crisis

According to Salt Lake City’s housing dashboard, we’re currently short about 18,000 affordable housing units. So the City Council is exploring a slate of code changes and incentives to encourage affordable housing developments in every part of our city — not just the west side.
