Black Menaces Harassed at BYU
Sebastian Stewart-Johnson, a Brigham Young University student and member of the Black Menaces (a viral TikTok group that makes videos that expose inequities for people of color), was yelled at by a staffer who threatened to call the police while he was filming a video on campus. Later, he was followed by a fellow student and editor-in-chief of The Cougar Chronicles, Jacob Christensen, who blocked him from filming. Sebastian said this is just one example of why students of color don’t feel safe at the university. [Salt Lake Tribune]
