Will Leonardo Dicaprio Save the GSL?
Oscar-winning actor Leonardo Dicaprio took to Instagram to encourage people to sign Sierra Club’s petition to save the Great Salt Lake. Sierra Club is one of five environmental groups suing the state of Utah as a way to help preserve the drying lake. [Axios]

The Cost of GSL Dust
We all know this by now, but as the Great Salt Lake dries more toxic dust is exposed. A report by the Utah State Legislature’s Auditor General showed that “dust mitigation” would cost Utah taxpayers $1.5 billion with a yearly maintenance of $15 million. Of course, that number will only go up as more of the lake dries up. The solution: Get more water into the lake. [FOX 13]

Concert Etiquette
The Twilight Concert Series is wrapping up. The final Salt Lake show is this Friday with Rina Sawayama. Let’s take this opportunity to talk about concert etiquette, shall we? Salt Lake Chatter

Hey Salt Lake readers wrote in with their recommendations for butcher shops and music teachers. Plus, one reader shares a story of the time she ran into Utahns at a lake in Switzerland.
⛰ On Spotting Utahns in Switzerland
“In 2017, I was in Switzerland and went to a little lake called Oeschinen, where there were very few people visiting at the time. It’s always easy to spot (hear) Americans, but there was a family of six there with young children. One of the kids was pleading for some of the ice cream that was sold at the lakeside shop, and the dad kept saying that they had some back at the place where they were staying.
The kid kept at it and finally the dad said, “It’s not even going to be what you’re expecting, it’s not like the ice cream at Macey’s.” And at that point, I knew they were Utahns. I went up to them and asked if they were from Utah, and turns out they lived in Sandy and were traveling around Europe for a few months.” — Riley F.
🥩 On Butcher Shops
“I pass Don’s Meats on Redwood Road every day dropping off my son to daycare, but have never been. Beltex Meats is also a good one, and is currently listed in a competition with USA Today for the top ten butcher shops in America.” —Elisa G.
“The answer is Beltex Meats. Local, fresh, amazing. They have a shop by Liberty or do farmers markets. “ — Taylor M.
🎻 On Music Teachers
“You asked about good music teachers, On Track Music Guitar School in Murray is amazing. They teach guitar, bass, and vocals. They partner with Groove Dr's for drum lessons. Every May they put on an awesome program called Student Fest where they put beginner students together to create bands so they can play together. My daughter was in a band for eight years called Nerdvana. My entire family (son, daughter, husband, and dad) has been a part of the OnTrack/Groove Dr.'s program for more than eight years.” — Gina B.
“Best guitar teacher ever: Nick from the local band, Pompe ‘n Honey!” — Maria K.
“Bass guitar instructor: Russ Hodges is an excellent bass guitar instructor who works out of On Track facility on 900 E.” — Don J.
“My friend Christina is a very talented cello player and teacher. Here is her website with info about lessons!” — Sierra D.
