What's CITY Talking About?

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
Breaking news courtesy of Bryant Heath of SLsees: Fun Time Kidz Kare — which has long been a divisive Salt Lake City landmark and beacon of conspiracy theories — is undergoing a makeover (or makeunder, depending on how you look at it). The Fun Time Kidz Kare sign has been removed and it’s getting a new paint job (goodbye neon slime green and purple door). TBD what will become of it. [Instagram]
Over 20% of Utah Homes For Sale Are $1M+
While the country at large has seen a surge in million-dollar homes (8%, double what it was pre-pandemic), the statewide number is much higher. According to a housing analyst, over 20% of homes for sale in Utah are at least $1 million. It’s also estimated that 90% of renters in our state can’t afford to buy homes. [KUTV]

Salt Lake Chatter
This week in reader comments we have everything from ramen to license plates. Plus, does Salt Lake have butcher shops?
🍜 On Ramen
“It’s a ramen place, but the absolute best is Silverlake Ramen at the Mountainview Village shopping center in Riverton. It’s a new location for an amazing California staple. Sooo good!” — Tamsen S.
💜💙 On License Plates For a Cause
“I want to shed some light on the new Live On license plate! Live On is a suicide prevention organization, and they are in a similar situation as the sponsored Great Salt Lake plate, waiting for 500 advocates to sign up before it is released. You can find more information on their website.” — Ashley P.
🚶♀️On the Main Street Promenade
“We live on the west side and deal with having to commute from west to east daily. Construction has made this much more difficult in the past couple years. So although I support improving Main Street/making it more pedestrian-friendly in concept, I have real concerns about increasing the barrier between the Fairpark/Rose Park neighborhoods and the east side.” — Michelle W.
❓A Couple of Reader Q’s
“What is your favorite Lagoon ride and why? Mine is The Wild Mouse. It freaks me out and I LOVE IT!” — Penny P.

“I have only been in Utah for a year now. Back home we have this awesome local chain of butcher shops. I've been looking around for something similar without any luck. Can we source the Hey Salt Lakers to find the best butcher shops in the valley!?” — Sally G.
