August 4, 2023

Hey, Salt Lake! Apologies for the late send. We have a giant roundup of things to do this weekend and beyond, including where to take your kids this summer. Happy weekending ☀️

What's CITY Talking About?

Starbucks Workers Back Out of Union

A group of Starbucks employees at the Cottonwood Heights location are wanting out of the Starbucks Workers United union after joining last year. They are working with the National Right to Work Foundation in order to decertify. So far, the major corporation has refused to work with the union and has allegedly fired some union organizers. • Fun fact: The Cottonwood Heights Starbucks was the first location in Utah to unionize. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]

Open Streets Forever?

Pioneer Park Makeover

Pioneer Park, one of Salt Lake City’s oldest parks, will soon get a makeover. Construction should start mid-2024 and the plan includes a new playground, plaza, and park ranger station.
