Good morning! Have you seen this car around town? Even better, have you used its services? If so, send me an email. We want to talk to you.

What's CITY Talking About?

Do you live or commute through the area above? The Livable Streets program will be holding public meetings to get community feedback on traffic calming efforts Wednesday and Thursday for zones 3 and 4. You can join virtually or in person. [Twitter]
Goats at Work
Granite School District has hired a group of kids to clear weeds at several schools. And we’re not talking child labor here, we mean goats. The district has been utilizing these grass munchers for the last 5-6 years as a cost-effective way to maintain school grounds. [FOX 13]
Utah’s Endangered Species
It’s the 50th Anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, the federal law that demands we protect imperiled plants and animals in this country. So, who’s life is on the line in Utah? On today’s episode of City Cast Salt Lake, we’re talking about the water monster every Salt Lake angler should know. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]

Salt Lake Chatter
Whether gluten-filled or gluten-free, we as people have had a love affair with bread that dates back over 14,000 years. In today’s Hey Salt Lake Chatter, we have even more best sandwich recs. Plus, some gluten-free bread options to try.
🥪 More on Sandwiches
“The Red Food Truck’s chicken sandwich is 10000000/10” — @zoemeeken
“Caputo’s muffuletta.” — @uniteutrns
“Feldman’s Deli hands down best Reubens!” — @gigi_gardens
“Specifically for breakfast sandwiches, Frankie & Essl's is up there.” — @cschaaf38
Even Central 9th Market has their favorite: “Duffy’s should be on the list. Also Deadpan Sandwich.” — @central9thmarket
🍞 On Gluten-Free Bread/Treats
“My stepmom is gluten-free, and I had some Mrs. Hewitt’s GF bread and brownie bites delivered to my house via Wasatch Delivery when she was visiting. Both were a huge hit and although I didn’t get to try the bread myself, I can personally attest that the brownie bites were great!” — Hannah T.
🥖 On Sourdough
“Parsons’ Bakery in Bountiful on 2600 S. is probably some of the best sourdough we’ve ever had in Utah. We’ve tried many, and we keep going back to them. They sell out every single day. You can call and actually put one aside for yourself. Sometimes, once in a great while, they will have day-olds but it’s only about a dollar cheaper.” — Bryan H.

Happy 50th birthday to the Endangered Species Act of 1973! The landmark legislation demands we do everything in our power to protect imperiled plants and animals in the United States. In celebration, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources recovery program chief Sarah Seegert tells host Ali Vallarta about a local water monster whose life is on the line — and steps we can take to keep it around.
I’ll be out of town Friday and Monday so City Cast Editor Adrian González will be back filling in. See you Tuesday!
