What's CITY Talking About?
Wear Enough Sunscreen
Utah has the highest skin cancer rate in the nation according to a study that analyzed data by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Of course, it’s important to put on sunscreen but the way you put it on matters. An expert from the Huntsman Cancer Institute recommends one full ounce (about a shot glass) of sunscreen to get enough coverage on your body. Additionally, it should be applied 15 minutes before sun exposure. [FOX 13]
Overstock.com is the New Bed, Bath & Beyond
The Utah-based company Overstock.com will now be Bed, Bath & Beyond. If you didn’t know, Bed, Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy and is closing all of their retail stores nationwide. Overstock.com swooped in and acquired the failed retailer for $21 million which includes their branding and URL. [Salt Lake Tribune]
Special Election Tea
City Cast Salt Lake host Ali Vallarta and lead producer Emily Means talk about the hot and spicy race for Utah’s 2nd Congressional District, representing a large portion of Salt Lake City. And later, I jump on for pick of the week. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
