City Cast Salt Lake
A guide to booze in Utah
June 26, 2023
Good morning! Hey Salt Lake reader Valarie E. asked, “How do you meet other single 30-somethings in this city? All my friends have families with young kids and it's impossible to have spontaneous dinners or hit Costco together. Where my errand-running, taco-eating friends at?”
Where do you meet new friends? Send me an email.

What's CITY Talking About?
Jack in the Box Traffic
The new Jack in the Box in Salt Lake opened to mega crowds and a drive-thru line that backed up onto State Street. Sounds similar to the Sugar House Chick-fil-A that frequently caused traffic jams on 2100 S. (iykyk) Is Jack in the Box the new Chick-fil-A? [Salt Lake Tribune 🔒]
The Other Side Village
The Other Side Village (a tiny home development for those experiencing homelessness) is being built on the site of a former landfill. In order to ensure the land is safe for residential use, Salt Lake City and Utah’s Department of Environmental Quality created a plan to address environmental concerns. The plan is open for public comment through July 23. [Twitter]
A Romantic Train Ride to … Boise?
The Utah Department of Transportation has asked the federal government for half a million dollars to study the possibility of passenger trains between Las Vegas, Salt Lake, and Boise. In today’s episode of City Cast Salt Lake, host Ali Vallarta talks with City Cast Boise about why their town is pumped. Plus, they brainstormed possible weekend getaways via the rail. How romantic.
