What's CITY Talking About?

Pup Cafe

Get a coffee and pet some cute dogs while you’re at it! A new coffee shop opened in West Jordan, Pup Cups Coffee, inside a thrift store. The owners hope that by showcasing rescue dogs, more will be adopted. They focus on dogs that are less likely to be adopted including older dogs and those who have been in the shelter more than 100 days. [KUTV]

The Christian School to Close

The iconic Utah landmark, the Christian School on State Street will be taken down this month. It was created by the late artist Ralphael Plescia. Plescia left the building to Shriners Hospital which was then sold to developers. His family will temporarily move the art to their Salt Lake home before finding a permanent museum space for it. Wildfire Season

Are you worried about wildfire season? The threat of wildfires in the West, plus low pay, makes it difficult to recruit much-needed firefighters. On City Cast Salt Lake, former wildland firefighter Jonathon Golden joins host Ali Vallarta to share tips for keeping you and firefighters safe. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]
