The weekend events on our GAY-dar for Pride
June 2, 2023
Happy Pride! What are you doing to celebrate? If you’re looking for things to do, I’ve got an excellent (if I do say so myself) roundup of events below.

What's CITY Talking About?
Road Closures For Pride
Plan ahead for road closures this Pride weekend. It’s estimated that 150,000 people will attend the two-day Utah Pride Festival. Roads near the City and County building will be closed completely or partially including 200 E. between 400 S. and 500 S. [ABC 4]
Heat Wave
This May was the hottest May in Utah in the last 89 years according to the National Weather Service. This comes after we experienced our record-breaking winter. Does this signal a heat wave summer? TBD. [KSL]

The Future of Ballpark
Thousands of public votes were cast to decide the three winners for the Ballpark NEXT competition, which will help provide inspiration for the future of Smith’s Ballpark once the Salt Lake Bees move to Daybreak. The final designs are a women’s sports complex, a repurposed stadium for shops and restaurants, and a year-round biodome. City officials, with input from community members, will ultimately decide what becomes of the Ballpark. [Salt Lake Tribune]
