SLC Has a Lot of Airbnb Rentals

The 6th most in the country, to be exact. A recent study by the Chamber of Commerce noted that Salt Lake has nearly 2,000 rentals on the platform, which adds up to 986 Airbnb listings per 100,000 residents. Salt Lake’s are also among the most affordable, averaging $168 per night. [ABC4]

Park Rescues are Costing Taxpayers

An investigation by Fox 13 reveals that thousands of visitors to national parks require rescue operations each year, all at a significant cost to taxpayers. The report highlights the dangers associated with activities like hiking, climbing, and swimming in these natural areas, leading to injuries, accidents, and sometimes even fatalities, and a seemingly lacking amount of safety information from the Park Service and other officials. The 100 Deadliest Days on the Road

The Utah Department of Transportation is urging drivers to prioritize safety and return to fundamental driving practices as the "100 deadliest days" approach. This initiative aims to prevent fatalities and deadly crashes during the summer months when traffic accidents increase, by emphasizing the importance of following traffic laws, avoiding distractions, and practicing defensive driving.
