What's CITY Talking About?

Slushy Slopes

Some ski resorts are still open, including Solitude Mountain Resort. Though they had to temporarily close one of their lifts over the weekend because of a slushy melty mess. They’ll be closing on May 21 so take advantage before the slopes pull an Olaf in summer. Plus, listen to City Cast Salt Lake to learn more about the problem with too much snow. [FOX 13]

Can the SLC School District Restore Trust By Fall?

School is almost out for the summer, but Salt Lake City School District leadership still has a lot of homework to do. It’s been a tumultuous few years for the district, from leaked texts illustrating the board’s contention to forcing out its first Black superintendent. KUTV education reporter Chris Jones joins host Ali Vallarta to explain why it could be a cruel summer for new and returning school board members, as they grapple with some big decisions and try to restore parents’ faith in their leadership.
