City Cast Salt Lake
Your Mother's Day gift guide
May 1, 2023
Good morning! I’m on today’s episode of City Cast Salt Lake. Listen to me talk a little bit about what to do on a Sunday and a whole lot about categories of brunch 🤓

What's CITY Talking About?
Cougar Attack
A 70-year-old man in Spanish Fork Canyon was attacked by a cougar last week. He suffered lacerations on his arm but otherwise made it out okay. Listen to our episode of City Cast Salt Lake for tips on what to do if you encounter a cougar (aka mountain lion). [ABC 4]
What’s Good Salt Lake
I’m pumped to get my hands on a copy of “What’s Good Salt Lake City,” curated by Copy That Studio. It’s a 336-page guide to food, parks, trails, bars (and more!) in our favorite city. And it’s available to purchase today! [Instagram]
Deadheads
The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources opened up a survey for people to report “deadheads.” Graphic warning: Deadheads are the skulls of big game that still have the antlers attached. It’s illegal to pick these up without a license. [ABC 4]
A Brunch For Every Sunday Vibe
What do we do with ourselves on a Sunday? They can be really quiet around here, due to the influence of Utah’s predominant cultural force: the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On today’s episode of City Cast Salt Lake, I join host Ali Vallarta to go over some of my favorite things to do on the day of rest. Spoiler: There will be brunch. [City Cast Salt Lake 🎧]

Where Is It?

Shout out to everyone who correctly guessed the location of this beautiful mural at Valley Fair Mall in West Valley. It was made by the talented artist Bill Louis, who has a number of murals around Salt Lake.
It was created in partnership with Visit Salt Lake, the Utah Arts Alliance, and Valley Fair Mall to showcase Polynesian culture in public art.

This may not be the Stanley Adventure Quencher Utah is obsessed with, but oh man, would this hold a whole lotta dirty soda. Do you know where this giant thermos is located?
