| Today we’re beefin’, at least with the things we wish were different about Salt Lake City. Here readers share what’s getting under their skin. | | Inaccessible Park Bathrooms | “I really connected with you highlighting the fact about park bathrooms not being open or accessible year round. As a bike rider and park enjoyer, it always bothers me that as a taxpayer I cannot utilize services that are paid for in part by me. Thank you for addressing this in your study.” — Anna U. | | Streets Too Wide | “How wide the streets are and how many parking lots I have to walk past to get to interesting things in the city.” — Travis M. | | Affordable Housing (or Lack Thereof) | “My biggest gripe is affordable housing anywhere in the valley, Provo to Ogden. I retired and moved here to be near my five children. I can afford the rent but not these exorbitant fees and regulations. I’m expected to earn three times the rent while living on a fixed income of social security and military retirement. I’m 70-years-old and this was never an issue, then my rent increased every six months until I no longer ‘qualified’ and they wouldn’t renew my lease.” — Mary H. | | Only Sad Hour | “Probably my biggest gripe with Salt Lake City, as someone that moved to Utah, is no happy hour.” — Aaron R. | | A Gripe About Gripes | “My biggest gripe? That we all gripe so much! We live in such a beautiful place and take it for granted.” — Deb S. | | |
