Data Center Referendum Petitions

A group of Box Elder County residents want to force a referendum on the county commission’s vote to allow a 40,000 acre data center in Utah. If the referendum petitions are approved, residents must then gather a certain number of signatures in order to force a public vote on the commission’s decision. [KUTV]

Utah Jazz Get No. 2 Draft Pick

Thanks to questionable “tanking” practices and a lucky lottery win, Utah Jazz basketball will get the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s NBA draft in June. It’s a sign of hope for beleaguered fans and a coach sick of yelling, “f***ing play harder!” [Salt Lake Tribune]

Two Vultures. One Mission. Adventure Safe Day.

Frank and Morris want you to mark your calendar. May 16th is Adventure Safe Day and Utah’s celebrating by getting outside and doing it safely. Find us at state parks, Kilby Block Party, local shops and of course, on the trails. We’ll have free safety checklists, activity books for the kids, and more. You could even win one of five Adventure Safe Vacations.

The countdown to the Kilby Block Party has begun. If you’re looking to kick off your music week early (like me), might I suggest taking the “Highroad” and checking out Sir Woman at the State Room on Wednesday?
