Think of this as your Hey Salt Lake community bulletin board: a dedicated space for volunteer opportunities, resources, fundraisers, and other ways to help your neighbors.

Hygiene Resource Drive

Salt Lake City is partnering with local homeless resource centers to host a drive for hygiene products through March 29, and they’re looking for toothbrushes, body wash, shampoo, and menstrual products. Donations can be made at Dynapac or at Maven STRONG — drop off hours vary. They’re also accepting donations through an Amazon wish list.

Gear for All

Do you have unused outdoor gear taking up space? Donate it to the Gear Fund Collective, a mutual aid organization expanding access to equipment. They also have volunteer opportunities to kick start a community gear library.

Community Gardens

If you’re ready to start planting stuff this spring but don’t have the space to do it at home, consider a community garden. The Green Urban Lunch Box has wonderful food distribution programs and volunteer opportunities. Wasatch Community Gardens has garden plots for rent — there’s even a plot scholarship option! Support the work of New Roots, a refugee organization that provides farming resources.

Food Access

If you or someone you know is looking for free food resources, Feed UT has a list of local food pantries, ready-to-eat meals, and food stamp information.
