The Salmon Run

Each fall, kokanee salmon transform from silver to bright red as they migrate upstream to spawn, with males growing hooked jaws and humped backs. Watch them take their journey, it’s tragically poetic: They pour every ounce of energy into the ascent and perish after reproducing.

Fall Craft Supplies Swap

Are you ready for the fall craft season? Whether you’re clearing out your craft room or looking for new supplies, check out the fall craft supplies swap by Grid Zine Fest on Saturday, Sept. 20. It’s free to attend and bringing things to swap is optional!

Tomato Sandwich Party

Take advantage of the late summer tomatoes and attend the annual tomato sandwich party at Wasatch Community Gardens on Saturday, Sept. 6. They’ll have garden tours, live music, and the bread is supplied by Leavity Bread & Coffee (some of the best bread in town).

Snail Fest

No escargot here, this snail fest is all about slow food (aka small scale farmers and food producers). The second annual Snail Fest at The Neighborhood Hive will help raise funds for the Slow Food microgrant. It’ll feature small bites and drinks from local businesses honored with the Snail of Approval.

Millcreek Produce Pals

A very clever program in Millcreek where you can donate the excess produce from your home garden. Find a drop-off location on the map and produce will be distributed to various Millcreek organizations in need.

Alternatively, you can donate directly to an organization on this garden share map by Wasteless Solutions.
